Born in Montreal, Canada, Larry was a guest soloist at the age of 14 with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa. After studying with pianist  Lubka Kolessa at the Quebec Conservatory he began composing and then went to New York to record the albums Stone Circus and  The Diary Of Mr Gray. He then branched into blues, R&B, and theatre and began writing soundtracks for the National Film Board. He appeared with his group CRIME in Terror Train and has been scoring films since 1990.
